Speciesism – The Movie

VeganPotluck_SpeciesismMovie

We are showing the movie Speciesism (see http://speciesismthemovie.com/) and holding a vegan potluck on Sunday, November 16th starting at 6 PM.

“Modern farms are struggling to keep a secret. Most of the animals used for food in the United States are raised in giant, bizarre “factory farms,” hidden deep in remote areas of the countryside. Speciesism: The Movie director Mark Devries set out to investigate. The documentary takes viewers on a sometimes funny, sometimes frightening adventure, crawling through the bushes that hide these factories, flying in airplanes above their toxic “manure lagoons,” and coming face-to-face with their owners.”

If you are able to, please bring a vegan (no animal products like dairy, meat, eggs, honey, etc.) dish to share. If you are unable to share a dish please come anyway! There should be plenty of food for all. Of course, you don’t have to be a vegan to come.

* Common Root – Mutual Aid Center is directly upstairs if you come in the east door. As always, Common Root events are free and open to the public.
